Vietnamese European Knowledge and Technology Transfer Education Consortium (VETEC) is an EU – funded project in Erasmus + Key Action 2 framework for the period of 3 years, coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) – Belgium and co-coordinated by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) – Vietnam. The VETEC has 3 partners in EU and 3 partners in Vietnam and 06 associate partners, 1 organization. The VETEC collaboration project is beneficial for both Vietnamese and European partners with the involvement of European partners from different European regions: North West (Belgium), Central (Germany) and South West (Portugal). The project Through Academic Cooperation Towards Innovative Capacity (TACTIC) is aimed at developing the capacities of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Mongolia, Vietnam and Cambodia to modernize the universities’ management, and improve the services and procedures in line with the advanced EU standards. The project will raise awareness and understanding of the target-area policies and practices at national and institutional levels, and disseminate through various presentations, events, and trainings throughout the course of this project. English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) is an online course designed to introduce you to the theory and practice of teaching disciplinary content in English. This course will help you re-develop your existing courses or create new ones that use English as the Medium of Instruction (EMI). Materials include engaging videos, practical readings, and opportunities for collaboration within the course and in your institutions. You will identify challenges that faculty and students encounter in EMI classes, and develop strategies for successfully helping students learn course content while simultaneously building or refining their English skills. In addition, you will gain confidence in teaching in English while you also become more comfortable using pedagogies that are interactive and focus on student learning. Topics include course design, syllabi development, lesson and materials creation, teaching interactively in English, and supporting learning through technology. When you complete the course, you will have a portfolio of materials you can use in your own courses.

With the NAVIS Centre in Hanoi, the BELS initiative was able to place a foothold for EU GNSS applications in South East Asia, widely opening international relationships for GNSS solution markets to EU companies. Founded in 2010 the NAVIS Centre serves as entry point for EU companies. Next step to go is the implementation of a fully embedded GNSS NAVIS Demo Centre. It builds upon the broad engagement of companies, researchers and stakeholders during BELS and aims at attracting further EU companies. The Centre will serve as a platform to demonstrate the full value chain of EU GNSS companies; from hardware to software, as well as services and maintenance: BELS+ will support the acquisition of EU demo companies and prepare a local infrastructure for placement of EU GNSS devices to raise awareness for the European GNSS expertise.
